Southern Stars
Here’s a shot of the southern sky at night over 22 minutes. The light pollution bottom right is Sydney. Turns out the planet really is turning.

Here’s a macro shot of an Australian Blow Fly on a mint flower. This was taken with a 1:1 Tamron macro lens on a Nikon D50 at f/32 and 1/60 seconds.

This makes a great desktop background on my eeePC.
Marty Roesch was in Sydney today to talk about Enterprise Threat Management. Looks like there are some really cool features coming up in Snort version 3 => http://www.snort.org/users/roesch/Site/Snort%203.0.html
Of course I had to get my Snort shirt signed too.
Here’s a panorama from Angels Landing in the Zion National Park. This walk is about 4 hours and the best part of the walk is a ledge 3 foot wide and about 10 foot long with a 1,200 foot drop off on one side and a 900 foot drop off on the other. Here’s the view from the top. Click the photo for a larger image.
BlackHat and DefCon are over and it’s time for a cool change. We hired a car and drove about three and half hours to Zion National Park in Utah. Here’s a photo of the moon rise last night over the mountains.
We are on the way to hire a inner tube and float down the river for a couple of hours. Awesome place.
More preparation for Black Hat today. Here’s a couple of photos from our excursions.
Caesar’s Palace reception area.
.. and Las Vegas Boulevard, commonly known as “the Strip”. What an awesome place.
